Do you love S’mores? Do you also love poptarts? Well, I am glad you do!

Homemade S'mores Poptarts

S’mores in a poptart! Can anything get better than that? I’ve mentioned before how I love s’mores. The combination of chocolate and marshmallow seriously cannot be beaten. I’m so glad that Chief MOM asked me to try out our Homemade Poptart recipe, but with a sweeter twist!

We’ve shown you how to make your own homemade poptarts from scratch, and here the details are essentially the same except for the filling. Using our homemade recipes for Sunflower Nutella and marshmallow fluff you can easily make these delicious poptart treats.

If you don’t have a pastry bag you can use any plastic bag. Close the top and push the Sunflower Nutella and marshallow fluff to one corner of your bag. Snip the tip of the bag and “pipe” the alternating rows of Sunflower Nutella and marshmallow fluff onto your pastry rectangles. Depending on how big you make your rows will determine how much filling and how many rows you can make. I had five rows total, three sunflower nutella rows with two marshallow fluff rows in between.

When your poptarts are done cooling you can drizzle them with melted Sunflower Nutella or melted chocolate. Even better: let your kids drizzle the Sunflower Nutella so they can make fun designs before they eat!

Serves: 6-7 poptarts
Ingredients
  • Pie dough, homemade or store bought.
  • ½ cup Sunflower Nutella (approximately)
  • ½ cup marshmallow fluff (approximately)
  • Splash of milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. For filling get your Sunflower Nutella and homemade fluff ready by putting each into its own piping bag.
  3. Roll your pie dough on a lightly floured surface until desired thickness is achieved.
  4. Cut out rectangles 3" by 4" to make poptarts. Roll excess dough and re-cut if necessary. You will need two rectangles to make one poptart.
  5. Place one row of rectangles down on the baking sheet.
  6. Using your piping bag, pipe alternating rows of Sunflower Nutella and marshmallow fluff in the middle of the rectangle.
  7. Carefully, with a pastry brush or your finger, brush milk onto edges of dough. Lay the second rectangle over the top and press down with your fingers along the edge to close the poptarts.
  8. Using a fork, press all the edges to completely seal the poptarts.
  9. Cut a few tiny slits in the top of each poptart.
  10. Bake until golden brown, for 25 to 30 minutes.
  11. Place poptarts on wire racks and allow to cool completely.
  12. If desired drizzle poptarts with melted sunflower Nutella or chocolate.
  13. Enjoy!
